On Saturday, May 9, 2026, mark your calendars for an unforgettable evening as the Friends of Westbury High School Foundation host our annual Scholarship Gala and Silent Auction at the Ballroom at Tanglewood, located at 5430 Westheimer Way, Houston.

This cherished event is our primary fundraiser, dedicated to supporting the bright futures of Westbury High School students through scholarships.

Honoring Excellence in Our Community

Each year, we proudly recognize an outstanding community partner, alumnus, and faculty member. The 2026 Scholarship Gala will honor:

• Coach Nikolus Gianukos, Boys Varsity Soccer Coach

  • Celebrated for leading the 2024–2025 team to a historic season as Co‑District Champions, finishing with a 13‑2‑3 record and advancing to the first round of the playoffs.

• David Hawes, Founder and Partner of Hawes Hill

  • Honored for his visionary leadership and for spearheading the renaissance of Southwest Houston.

• Bill Hinds, Outstanding Alum and Nationally Honored Cartoonist

  • Creator of beloved comics including Buzz Beamer, Cleats, and Tank McNamara, whose work continues to bring smiles to audiences nationwide.

Celebrating Student Achievement

The highlight of the evening will be the introduction of our 2026 scholarship recipients. This year, twelve graduating seniors will each receive $3,000 scholarships, bringing the foundation’s total scholarships awarded to over $600,000 since 1992—made possible entirely by our generous supporters.
